Mahesh Kumar complained about Ranjit Sinha
NORA CHOPRA  11th May 2013

CBI chief Ranjit Sinha was "eased out" of the post of Railway Protection Force (RPF) head at the complaint of Mahesh Kumar, the man who was caught bribing Pawan Bansal's nephew. A CBI joint director wrote a letter to the then Rail Minister Mamata Banerjee accusing Sinha of corruption. Mahesh Kumar was said to be behind the allegations. Banerjee sent the letter to P. Chidambaram, who was then Home Minister. Chidambaram expunged the charges against Sinha and allowed him to be transferred. But Sinha was kept waiting for two months before he was allowed to join as the director-general of Indo-Tibetan Border Police. The question is: was Kumar's arrest Sinha's way of exacting "revenge"?
