Mamata's men on CBI hit-list
NORA CHOPRA  25th May 2013

Mamata Banerjee's principal secretary Gautam Sanyal may be on CBI director Ranjit Sinha's hit-list. It is being alleged that Sanyal wanted to place P.K. Mehta as the chief of the Railway Protection Force in place of Ranjit Sinha and convinced Banerjee to get rid of Sinha. Banerjee was already annoyed with Sinha for objecting to the use of RPF during the West Bengal elections. Mehta, who became RPF chief, superseded 28 officers in the process. It is said that the CBI also has Mamata adviser K.D. Singh on its hit-list. The CBI is probing allegations of Singh buying votes to become Rajya Sabha member from Jharkhand.
