1. Imran Khan was born on January 13, 1983 to Anil Pal, a Bengali Hindu, and Nuzhat Khan in USA.

2. Khan's father works as a consultant at LinkedIn in Silicon Valley. His parents divorced when he was one year old.

3. He is actor Aamir Khan's nephew; and noted director and producer Nasir Hussain's grandson.

4. In India, he studied in Bombay Scottish School and later, in a boarding school in Ooty.

5. Khan made appearances as a child artist in his uncle Aamir's films, Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak (1988) and Jo Jeeta Wohi Sikander (1992).

6. Before he became an actor, he used to aspire to be a director. Khan joined Kishore Namit Kapoor's Acting Institute in Mumbai.

7. Khan made his debut as a lead actor in the 2008 film Jaane Tu... Ya Jaane Na produced by Aamir Khan and Mansoor Khan and co-starring Genelia D'Souza.

8. His next movie was Kidnap with Sanjay Dutt and Minissha Lamba, where he played a negative role. The movie flopped at the box office, however, Khan's performance was appreciated.

9. Khan made his next appearance in action film Luck with Shruti Haasan and Sanjay Dutt.

10. In 2010, he appeared in I Hate Luv Storys, directed by Punit Malhotra and produced by Karan Johar. The film went on to become a box office hit.

11. His next film Break Ke Baad, directed by Danish Aslam and produced by Kunal Kohli, was an average grosser.

12. Khan then starred in the youth cult Delhi Belly, an English-language comedy directed by Abhinay Deo. The film is a critical and commercial hit and is Khan's third hit so far.

13. On January 16, 2010, Khan got engaged with his long-time girlfriend Avantika Malik. The couple married this year on January 10.
