Lalrindika Ralte(C) has emerged as one of the best midfielders in ISL.

It may have been only a fortnight since the ISL kicked off in India, but changes are occurring feels India international and Mumbai City FC midfielder Lalrindika Ralte. Ralte told The Sunday Guardian that playing under English coach, Peter Ried has been a fruitful experience.

"Reid is happy with our (Indian players) performance. But he has asked us to improve our ball passing and crosses."

The 22-year-old footballer from Mizoram has scored 12 goals in 34 appearances for the national team. A versatile midfielder, Ralte is also known for his long range shooting prowess.

Ralte expressed his joy over the large number of foreign signings that has been done by the ISL. "We need more foreign players to come to India and play in tournaments like ISL and I-League. That's how Indian football will improve."

Ralte said that training with top class foreign players like Anelka has helped him and the other Indian players a lot. "I have learnt a lot from players like Anelka. I have noticed how quickly they pass the ball . I think I am improving."

NorthEast United FC's head coach Ricky Herbert told this paper that the Indian players were adapting well to his coaching methodology. "The (Indian) players have been very receptive to the themes of coaching. They are working hard on their personal development and understanding of their own roles including linking that to the other players' roles," said the New Zealander.

Asked if there were any areas of concern among the Indian players, Herbert responded: "(It's)Really important that they work hard on developing their technical range and improve the overall capacity of their physical output."

Ralte was among the goal scorers during the 5-0 mauling of Pune City FC last week. Recalling the victory Ralte said, "I really enjoyed winning against Pune and scoring a goal as well. It was a home game and hence made the occasion more joyous."

Ralte said that the ISL has provided better infrastructural facilitates. "The training methodology is not much different from the I-league. However, In the ISL we have received better training facilities. Playing under lights has also helped us."
